Rajadamnern Stadium hosted the thrilling ‘Amazing Muaythai Journey to Rajadamnern’ finale on December 22, 2023, in Bangkok.
In a landmark series of events, the “AMAZING MUAYTHAI JOURNEY TO RAJADAMNERN” culminated on December 22, 2023, at Bangkok’s iconic Rajadamnern Stadium. This grand finale, a collaborative effort between Thailand’s Tourism Promotion Board and the historic Rajadamnern Stadium, showcased the elite Muay Thai champions who had emerged victorious from preliminary contests held in Slovakia and Japan.
Mr. Nithee Seeprae, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, said “TAT aims to offer experience-based tourism by leveraging Thai soft powers; namely, Food, Film, Festival, Fight, and Fashion to enrich visitors from around the world with meaningful travel experiences when holidaying in Thailand. Muay Thai is well established globally as a legendary martial art and the “AMAZING MUAYTHAI, ROAD TO RAJADAMNERN” will further elevate this recognition.”
This international series, featuring stages in Slovakia and two in Japan, was an endeavor to discover the most skilled Muay Thai fighters globally, culminating in an exhilarating final showdown in Thailand’s capital. The Bangkok finale, held at the prestigious Rajadamnern Stadium, known globally as the pioneering venue for Muay Thai, featured four intense bouts with fighters who had proven their mettle in the preceding rounds in Slovakia and Japan.
Highlights of the final matchups included:
- The WMC Female Intercontinental Bantamweight Title clash between Slovakia’s round one champion, Monika Chochlikova, and Ngaoprajan Looksaikongdin, the RWS Female Bantamweight second-place finisher, with Chochlikova emerging victorious.
- The WMC Asia Featherweight Title bout saw Asahi P.K.Saenchai, the WBC Muay Thai World Champion from Japan’s second round, triumph over Superman Banchamek, a Kickboxing Gold Medalist at the 31st SEA Games.
- In a thrilling encounter, Ramu Araya, the WMC Japan Champion and NJKF Promotion Champion from the second round in Japan, defeated Petchdam Chor. Kouyuha Isuzu, a former champion at Bangla Stadium.
- Saya Ito, the WBC Muay Thai Mini Flyweight, WMC World Mini Flyweight Champion, and a three-time WPMF World Champion from the third round in Yokohama, Japan, secured victory over the promising Atomweight fighter Petchplaifon Sitmink.
This event series commenced in Trenčín, Slovakia, on September 23, 2023, proceeded to Yokosuka, Japan, on October 1, 2023, and continued to Yokohama, Japan, on November 26, 2023, before reaching its climax in Bangkok.

The series attracted significant international attention, with sold-out events drawing over 5,000 enthusiasts, including 2,000 in Slovakia, 1,000 in Yokosuka, 1,200 in Yokohama, and 1,000 in Bangkok for the finale. Over the past year, interest in Muay Thai has surged, particularly at the Rajadamnern Stadium, where there was an astonishing 1,600% year-on-year increase in attendance, underscoring the timeless appeal of Muay Thai and the Rajadamnern Stadium as a hub for sports tourism.
