A-day roadtrip itinerary in Trung Khanh Cao Bang – The mountains of northern Vietnam
As a traveler always seeking new adventures, I recently embarked on a day road trip in Trung Khanh Cao Bang, a region known for its stunning mountains and breathtaking scenery in northern Vietnam.
My journey began early in the morning as I set off on the winding roads, passing by verdant green rice paddies and hill tribe villages along the way. The fresh mountain air and stunning landscape were already beginning to invigorate my senses.
My first stop was the Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of the most beautiful natural wonders in Vietnam. As I stood at the edge of the falls, I felt the cool mist on my face, the sound of the rushing water echoing through the air. The sight of the falls cascading down the rocky cliffs into the crystal-clear pool below was truly awe-inspiring.
From there, I continued on to the Nguom Ngao Cave, an underground wonderland of stalactites and stalagmites that has been carved by nature over thousands of years. As I explored the caves, I felt like I was on an otherworldly adventure, surrounded by the eerie beauty of the underground landscape.
Next on my itinerary was a visit to the Lung Cu Flag Tower, the northernmost point of Vietnam. The tower stands tall against the blue sky, with a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and the majestic Nho Que River flowing below. It was a humbling moment to stand at the edge of the tower, looking out at the vast expanse of the natural world.
In the afternoon, I made my way to the Phia Oac-Phia Den National Park. The park is a hidden gem, with hiking trails leading up to breathtaking vistas that seem to go on forever. The sight of the setting sun casting a golden glow on the mountain peaks was a moment that I will never forget.
In the evening, I had the opportunity to enjoy the traditional dishes of the local people. We lit a campfire, participated in some folk games and listened to the folk songs of the people here – the Tay ethnic group.
As I made my way back to my hotel after a long and rewarding day, I felt grateful for the opportunity to experience the beauty of Trung Khanh Cao Bang. The mountains of northern Vietnam are truly a wonder of the world, and I feel lucky to have been able to explore them even just for a day.
